If you dont want to mess around changing the default JVM settings or setting setenv manually on your Mac and you only want to configure all these settings through Applications -> Utilities- > Java -> Java Preferences app, you can change the default jdk of netbeans and make it use the Java6 that was recently introduced with a more flexible way.
So let's see..ti'sreally easy!
1. Go to path where you have installed Netbeans.app , usually its in Applications-> Netbeans ->
2.Right click on Netbeans 6.1 .app and select ' Show Package Contents'
3.In the finder window that appears, browse through
Contents/ Resources/ Netbeans / etc / netbeans.conf
4. Open netbeans.conf with a text editor and find the following line
# Default location of JDK, can be overridden by using --jdkhome:
change this to the following
